Hello, my name is Tom and I go by the nickname Littleguy3. I am on this site to learn and maybe help others. I am not an accountant,tax attorney, or expert. I am a retiree age 58, college educated but had a blue collar occupation, that is winding through the maze of learning the facets of a Self-directed IRA with checkbook control. My purpose is using an NYS LLC to invest in Real Estate in costa Rica.I have not talked to anyone yet who is doing the same way as I am, although many are using their IRA to buy real estate there I haven't found anyone who is Using a NYS LLC owned by a custodian for the benefit of my IRA and myself as the manager. In order to persue this I opened an Costerian LLC under my NYS LLC and use that as I vechicle to buy real estate there.The real estate I buy there is a corp. I buy the shares of the corp and thus the property. My goal is to #1 to find others that are doing this if there is anyone and 2 get as much info on Filling out form 5471 and what goes with that.Not much info available and if I could help my account doing some of the work and learning it is to my advantage.That a little background on why I am on this site. to learn and to share very simple. like to leave me a message, just select the discussion tab at the top of this page.
